Blockchain and cryptocurrency has intrigued me since my high-school days.This project was the curious extension of it.

So why CryptoNight? from the advent of bitcoin there was a simplistic approach that one computer means one vote but that didn't accounted for if one computer can have intensive computational power that it can have bigger share of votes that is ASIC. Now computation is fairly inexpensive than faster memory that is cache. So cryptonight takes in account of the cache memory and uses it more rendering ASIC infeasible. This again makes it one computer , one vote.Also there is not the concept of halving as in bitcoin but you can actually control the emission rate which can be smooth curve rather than disruptive change like bitcoin.I needed two servers to implement this so as to create the genesis block which was fairly easy but there is a lot of work to be done and the future prospect can be quite intriguing.
